This circular itinerary of indescribable beauty retraces the old trail of the Great War.
The breathtaking landscape along this trail is enriched by the variety of floral species from which the trail takes its name. Starting from Paradiso Pass we go up Trail n. 44 with the telecabina lift that winds and zig-zags up to the Castellaccio Pass. This pass offers a lovely view of the Adamello-Presanella group, whose fame is due in part to its shiny peaks, but even more to the pages full of suffering written by the many men forced to fight on its slopes. From here we move along the crest of the equipped trail, in a spectacular environment at a high altitude with a constant 360° view. Continuing we cross the Casa Madre Pass through a tunnel or using the recently constructed footbridges, which are along with the magic of the place itself the crown jewels of the trail. At the end we reach the “amici della montagna” cabin. After the obligatory and most worthwhile visit here we can return from the Presena Glacier.
