"Grande Guerra" (Great War) Trail n. 209/45

Starting a the old “funivia Paradiso” train station, you take trail n. 209 up to the intersection with n. 45, which crosses the remains of encampments and tunnels recovered from the First World War which are of particular interest.
Continuing on trail n. 45 you go up zig-zagging through shrubbery until the peak of the Casa Madre mountain. From the summit you can take in an awe-inspiring panorama. To return one can either take the same route as way up or, alternatively, take the variant at the intersection 45/a that leads to the Ponte-Tonale lift about 3 km from the pass.
